Workplace Harassment is unwelcome or unwanted conduct that denigrates or shows hostility or an aversion toward another person based on any characteristic protected by law:
race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, and genetic information, or other personal characteristic protected by law; and retaliation.
Unlawful employment-related harassment can impose large costs on employees and organizations through increased job turnover, higher absenteeism, reduced job satisfaction, lower productivity, and adverse health outcomes, not counting legal fees, judgments, etc. Whether or not your organization has been the subject of complaints or reported behaviors of unlawful workplace harassment, it is important to fully recognize that unlawful workplace harassment can and does happen.
